The Muleshoe Fire Department serves a population of approximately 8,000 within the city limits of Muleshoe and Bailey County. The department covers an area of over one-half million mostly rural acres and often provides mutual aid with adjacent counties. The department consists of 20 volunteer members that meet and train weekly. 

The Muleshoe Fire Department provides fire protection, promotes fire prevention and education, disaster planning and preparedness, rescue, and hazmat recognition and isolation.
